Hawaiian Chex Mix

No matter who you’re going to route for this Super Bowl, we can all agree on one thing: game day foods are tres important. It’s crucial to have the nourishment to sustain you for hours of screaming, and enough carbs to soak up one too many beers. Game day food isn’t supposed to be good for you. It’s supposed to be highly addictive and fun. And that’s exactly what Hawaiian Chex Mix is.

You may think that once you’ve had chex mix, you’ve had them all. But this is not your average party mix. This is Hawaiian chex mix, baby. Don’t let the fish sauce or seaweed pieces scare you. Trust me. These ingredients melt together to form the perfect combination of salty-sweet-savory-crunchy goodness.

This is perfect game day food. But I’m warning you: it’s highly addictive. So just make sure you’re ready for a wild night. Go {insert your fave team}!

Ingredients
3 cups Rice Chex
3 cups Corn Chex
2 cups Honeycomb Cereal
2 cups mini pretzels
2 cups Goldfish crackers
1 cup roasted peanuts
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
½ cup coconut oil
2 T soy sauce
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Tapatio sauce (or hot sauce of your choice)
1 tsp fish sauce
¼ cup Nori Komi Furikake (seaweed rice seasoning)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F. Mix cereals, pretzels and peanuts together in a large bowl. Then pour evenly into 2 large baking pans. Set aside to make the sauce.
Heat the butter, sugar, corn syrup, oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Tapatio and fish sauce in a pan over medium low. Mix until fully dissolved. Pour evenly over both baking dishes, and toss gently to coat.
Sprinkle with nori furikake and again toss to coat. Transfer baking dishes to the oven, and bake for approximately 60-75 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when most of the liquid gone, and the mix isn’t sticky to the touch.
Pour mix onto parchment paper and let cool. Enjoy!
